The exhibition Converters: Work by Amanda Smith and Tonja Torgerson is on display June 10 through September 6, 2019, at the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on the USI campus.
It features the creative work of Amanda Smith, a painter and assistant professor of art at Missouri State University, and Tonja Torgerson, a printmaker and visiting assistant professor at Indiana University. Smith and Torgerson’s subject matter and art-making processes are very different from one another, but the visual contrast between well-crafted and conceptually-focused bodies of work produces a persuasive show.
There will be a reception for the exhibition from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, September 6 in the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.
The exhibit is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
